The sovereignty (authority) of God
The Bible clearly depicts the triune God as supreme ruler over all creation (Gen. 1-3, Col. 1:15 -17). We, as God’s creation, are to live in complete submission to His authority, even when following God means abandoning our own priorities.
The word of God
God is a relational being and has chosen to reveal himself to us by means of the Bible. Scripture must be central to the life of the believer because scripture is the only completely true and reliable means of understanding who God is, who we are, and what God expects of us; therefore we maintain a priority of both knowing God’s Word and applying it to our lives (Heb. 4:12; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Tim. 4:1-2; Ps. 19:7-11, Ps. 119:165; Jam. 1:22-25).
The worship of God
Our whole lives should be lives of enthusiastic worship; worship that includes all that we do to acknowledge who God is and to ascribe worth to Him (Ps. 115:1; 1 Cor. 10:31), whether it be in prayer (1 Thes. 5:16-18; Jam. 5:13-20; 1 Sam. 12:23-24; 1Tim. 2:8), song (Ps. 5:11, 1 Chron. 16:9-10), studying and applying His Word (2 Tim. 2:15; Ps. 119:105-106; Josh. 1:8), or giving ourselves fully to be used by God (Rom. 12:2).
